Information
Here is a short overview of the social program scheduled for IEEE-NEMS 2012. More details will be posted here as they become available.


Welcome Reception

  • Day: March 5, 2012
  • Time: 16:30 – 18:30
  • Location: Restaurant “Camphora” in Kyoto Univ.

We invite you for the welcome reception in the Restaurant “Camphora” in Kyoto Univ, where some drinks and snacks will be served. Join us for a leisurely start of the IEEE-NEMS Conference.

Registration desk will be open during 16:00-18:00 on March 5, and throughout the conference.


Conference Banquet

  • Day: March 7, 2012
  • Time: 19:00 – 21:15
  • Location: Kyoto Royal Hotel & SPA

The conference banquet will be held at Kyoto Royal Hotel & SPA which is one of the conference official hotel. The registration fee covers the banquet for the conference participants. Come join us for an evening of culture and cuisine.

The full-course dinner will be served in the seated style. Since the seats will not be assigned, the banquet attendee can take a favorite seat.

During the early part of banquet, Maiko-san will stay around your table, and feel free to talk with them and take photographs together, though most of them do not speak English. (Please practice Japanese prior to the banquet!)

Maiko-san are typically under the age of 20 yeas old, and they are officially pupils before they become matured Geikos, but Maiko-san are often even more popular because of their cute and pretty fashions.

Entertainment highlights include the powerful music “Wadaiko (Japanese drums)” and the trio of Japanese traditional musical instruments “Koto (Japanese harp)”. Probably, through this banquet, Japanese tranquility and energy, activity, etc. will be able to be experienced at once.

IMPORTANT
Transportation from Kyoto University (Conference site) to Kyoto Royal Hotel & SPA (Banquet site) will be provided to those who registered. However, banquet participants should make individually transportation arrangement going back to their own hotel.
